According to a Government survey carried out by ONS in 2017/18 mental health problems accounted for 15.4 million sick leave days in the UK!

Mind’s recent Workplace Wellbeing Index revealed that 48% of people had experienced poor mental health in their current workplace and rates of anxiety and depression among UK employees have risen by nearly a third since 2013. The findings suggest business leaders, have, by and large, failed to address this with only 36% of UK businesses having any form of mental-health support or programme in place.

This week we are trying to help raise awareness for Mental Health Awareness Week.

As a part of this we asked the team what they like to do in their spare time to help them unwind. Today we have put our two new starters Scot and Laura in the spotlight. Read below to find out how Scot and Laura like to unwind…

“Mental health awareness is such a great topic and something I’m very passionate about. To relax and clear my mind I love a nice long walk in the countryside with Bertie (my dog). There is nothing better than fields and trees to help me regenerate”. Scot Rouse, HR Advisor Absolute Works.

“I love to unwind and rejuvenate with long country walks, yoga, running & massages” Laura Hadley, Marketing Coordinator Absolute Works.

As the week progresses the team will be taking part in walks in the park, yoga sessions in the board room, mindfulness, free massages and a team breakfast.
